Your Story in Color


It was such a privilege to tell this beautiful Mommy and Me story of love, resilience, and creating new memories after loss. Set in the comfort of their own backyard, this heartfelt Mommy and Me painting photoshoot became so much more than a family photography session. It was an opportunity for a mother and daughter to slow down, connect, create, and celebrate the special bond they share. After experiencing the loss of a loved one, they chose to honor their journey by making space for new memories. Memories filled with laughter, creativity, love, and togetherness. Through this intimate motherhood photography session, we captured not only beautiful portraits to look back on year to come, but a story of healing, strength, and the enduring love that carries us through difficult seasons.


There was something incredibly special about watching them lovingly play, paint and create new memories that they can hold onto for years to come. These are the moments that make motherhood photography so meaningful,. It's the little details, the genuine connection, and the stories that live beyond the photographs. I truly am honored when someone choses me to help them keep the memory alive, something to forward to look back on.

The vision was simple, overalls, canvas, paint.

Location

Concept

The concept was simple. Put these two barefoot beauties in classic denim overalls and white t-shit. The use of nontoxic paint was a must! I prepared food colored yogurt as a paint alternative and kept chilled until it was time to shoot.

I took the creative liberty to use the backyard to its full potential. While the white backdrop was the intended concept, I saw potential in just seeing how the girls interacted in their environment in the set up to session.


They took shoes off and had popsicles on this miniature picnic table. So we incorporated it! Working with toddlers sometimes means taking breaks, However, I love to simply give them a new activity to focus on. In this case, there was a trampoline at our disposal, music to keep the fun vibes coming, and even popsicles lovingly brought by grandma!


A simple way to turn 1 photoshoot into several beautiful moments. Redirect and work with the kids. Follow the chaos and the magic evolves into memories.

The Details

This session kicked off with Cher's 'Believe" which couldn't be more fitting to such a resilient family. The girls danced and sang along to throwbacks from the ages. Each one bringing to life new milestones and creating beautiful memories.


It's moments like these I'm so grateful to be a part of. For a breif instant, a mother and daughter are perfectly in harmony with each other from breath to laughter and all the little moments in between.
